Affordable Gigabit-over-Copper Solution

While more and more LAN nodes are connecting to 100Mbps nowadays, a super high speed and cost-affordable solution becomes more and more anticipated. OvisLink contributes a Gigabit-over-Copper NIC to the market in order to satisfy the demands. With standard Category 5 cables, small and medium-size businesses upgrading their networks to Gigabit rates now have got the powerful and cost-effective solution. The migration with Ethernet or Fast Ethernet LANs is as convenient as possible through the existing Cat. 5 wiring system.

32/64bit Bus Mastering Full/Half Duplex Operation

Packet descriptors and data are transferred via bus mastering, reducing the burden on the host CPU. The adapter supports full duplex 2000 transmission and reception.

Wake-on-LAN (WOL Support)

The adapter WOL is compliant with PC98, PC99 and OnNow.

Why Migrate to Gigabit Networking?

Modern enterprises and organizations rely more and more on LANs to provide network connectivity for a growing variety of complex and mission-critical desktop applications. The increasing multimedia transmission on networks, such as video-conferencing or remote white boarding, and also the converging trend to integrate voice, video and data on a single physical infrastructure are all contributing to more bandwidth-intensive traffic.

The growing use of 100Base connection, however, is creating a clear need for an even high-bandwidth technology at the backbone and severs level.

As higher bandwidth has been deployed more and more at the edge of the network, bandwidth at the backbone must increase considerably to accommodate the aggregate traffic. It turns out that the most suitable solution is Gigabit Ethernet.
